My Treasure Box

In a box far far away in the basement, I found my wooden box. In this wooden box was a bunch of costume jewelry that came with found memories. Necklaces & earrings from when I was a bridesmaid(s), some not so pretty but fashionable(at the time) jewelry, & some that I remember making years and years ago.

Caleb & Olivia found great joy in opening this wooden box. Olivia put on every piece of jewelry that she could, at the same time. I have found other treasures that I can't wait to post. But when your cleaning out the basement(mine at least), you don't want to do it with the kids around. So I only have a few hours a day if I focus! I found some great old photos too! My sisters will be so proud that I kept them. I tend not to be a pack-rat due to childhood memories of this disease, and of course Ron hates it when I pack-rat it, but I did manage to keep some old stuff around.

BTW... my new camera came in this week, that is why you are seeing more post's and pictures. I must warn you, Olivia is usually the compliant one on getting her picture taken. She has to have her picture taken every morning before preschool. She picks out her own clothes and goes to the window to have her picture taken. Caleb is more of a challenge. He seems to move too much and smiles goofy :) So, I'm not trying to be partial, it just turns out that Olivia is home more with me.

Almost March...

So what do you do when the weather outside is frightful... Well, you do homework and entertain the little diva. Olivia had to have her picture taken while Caleb did his homework. I can't wait till FEBRUARY is over and spring comes. It has been challenging this winter.

Wait, didn't I say the same thing about a year ago? Maybe I'm in the wrong area, but then I would miss the snow... The mid-west has a way of making you appreciate the seasons.

Pez....

Olivia and I took her good friend Garrett to the indoor playground today at a local church. Seriously, it’s the coolest indoor space I have ever seen. While the kids were playing, Dori met me out there w/ Cooper, we walked some laps.

While we were there, a lady showed up with a ton of Pez Dispensers, candy, and other goodies and laid them out on the table and told us to take whatever we wanted. Evidently, a candy distributor needed to get rid of the goods and it was there for the taking... Here are just a few of the characters that came home with us today...

Sickness in the House

Caleb and I have been sick since Friday and literally in bed for 3 days... YUCK.. Caleb & I went to the doctor or convenient care on Saturday and we saw many friends there all suffering from the same thing and hoping for relief. Ron stayed home from work on Monday to take care of Caleb and I and to tend to Olivia. My friend Caroline took Olivia for the afternoon yesterday hoping to give her a fighting chance to not get what we have. I am hoping she escapes this viral thing. Thank you Caroline for the chicken noodle soup and occuping Olivia. I owe you BIG TIME!!! She' my Erika (Joanna's blog) :) I went to Walmart today with Caleb and it wiped us both out. I am happy to be home and blogging. I feel like I am on the mends and can't wait to feel normal again.

Now she's unpacking

I think I should know this by now, but I thought I was safe. I usually follow the rule of "the kids are on a need to know basis". Just talked to Renee and she's coming this way for Spring Break. They were so sad, they totally wanted to go to Memphis, Caleb loves the bridges on the way and Olivia loves to sleep in the car. :( Of course, the plans may change again.

My girl is packing

I told Caleb and Olivia today that we are going on a trip for Spring Break in March. We plan to visit Auntie Renee, Uncle Kevin, Dominique and KJ..

OLIVIA STARTED PACKING TODAY!!!!!!!!!! She loves Memphis :)

point and shoot

Ok, so I've been very discouraged with my reliable point and shoot. I think I am just about to purchase an SLR.. Why? Just recently I had a chance to experiment with a friends camera at a social. Donita & Kacee were so patient answering all my questions and letting me know that how easy it is to capture that moment w/o the delay. So, I'll let you know when that happens (the slr purchase). My sisters have been begging me to buy an SLR for years now and like an old pair of jeans, I couldn't do it... Every time I talk to them, one of them says.. did you buy a new camera yet? I need to decide what lense family I want to buy into. There are so many to choose from and I think I got it narrowed down. At least this month... I just need to bite the bullet. Wish me luck!

Hopefully my new camera will inspire me to blog more :)
