The Party by Olivia

This year Olivia had the best Kindergarten experience. Her teacher challenged her and her class to do their best EVERYDAY. It truly was a privilege to have Ms. Stewart this year! Here is a sample of Olivia's writing (I'll do my best to translate)

********************************************
The Paty (Party)

The Chiljrin wher (The children were)
Jumping like Kagroos
on the boowes haws (bounce house)
Pepl whr taking (People where talking)
Pepl wher lafing(People where laughing)
like hyenas(she spelled this right)
Pepl wher eating like bears
Pepl wher playing in the rain
Pepl wher in the haws (house)
woching TV (watching)
*******************************************

Ms Stewart couldn't wait to show me last week and she pointed out that she spelled Hyenas right. I asked her if there was a book around the class about hyenas and she said no. The last full day of school is today and I have to say I will miss Ms. Stewart. She left quite an impression on Olivia.

The party Olivia was talking about was the Memorial Day party in Decatur with Ron's family. I couldn't name everyone here, but Ron can. These are all his cousins young and old, aunts and uncles, sister, neice and nephew... you name it, mostly everyone was there! Here is a picture...

Kids Birthday

Where has the time gone?

Caleb turned the big 8 this year and Olivia is now 6. School ends soon and summer begins in just a few short days, 8 to be exact. It has been a fun & busy year for us and we are getting ready for summer break.

School Started Today

Caleb started school last Thursday and Olivia's first full day was today! She did have a few minutes to see her classroom last Thursday where she met her Kindergarten teacher.

The kids were adorable. They walked together on the bus holding hands. Caleb was the best Big Brother EVER today. I asked Olivia what her favorite part of the day was and she said the ribs. Evidently they had BBQ Ribs for lunch.

Ron took the day off today and we went to lunch for the first time in AGES! It was a very nice date!

Sprinkler

Back in May, Caleb received a sprinkler for his birthday. All summer the kids have been asking me to put the thing together which took about 20 minutes in the hot sun. Actually I put it together in the garage, but it was still hot.

It was fun for about 2 minutes. They liked the flower sprinkler better. The moral to this story: DO NOT buy an elaborate sprinkler unless you are bored of the little yard sprinkler and what kids doesn't like that?
