1329

In a nutshell that is 13 girlfriends leaving 29 kids home with the dads for the weekend for some special bonding moments. IT CAN BE DONE and it was!

I was part of a wonderful group of friends that rented a house in Michigan City, Indiana on Lake Michigan. Trish our organizer (most fabulous Trish), made arrangements for us to rent out the "Mac Daddy" house which was truly amazing. I think Nancy said it best. I feel like I'm waking up in a Pottery Barn Catalog. I think it was most like Architecture Digest or "Arc D" as a famous talk show host in Chicago would say.

Needless to say, the weekend was load of fun and I have awesome memories of it.

School Started Today

Caleb started school last Thursday and Olivia's first full day was today! She did have a few minutes to see her classroom last Thursday where she met her Kindergarten teacher.

The kids were adorable. They walked together on the bus holding hands. Caleb was the best Big Brother EVER today. I asked Olivia what her favorite part of the day was and she said the ribs. Evidently they had BBQ Ribs for lunch.

Ron took the day off today and we went to lunch for the first time in AGES! It was a very nice date!

In a nutshell that is 13 girlfriends leaving 29 kids home with the dads for the weekend for the dads to have some special bonding moments. IT CAN BE DONE and it was!

I was part of a wonderful group of friends that rented a house in Michigan City, Indiana on Lake Michigan. What is amazing about this group of friends is we all know each other from playgroups through a mothers group we belong to and we all get along! There were some friends that couldn't come that were truly missed, but we will do it again next year!

Of course my photos don't do it justice. I think I will have to tweek a few of them to lighten it up. BUT... check out Joanna's blog, the lighting is fabulous.

Needless to say, the weekend was load of fun and I have awesome memories of it.

I will miss the view of the Lake from the house!

The Reunion

20 Years have passed since I graduated HS.. Our reunion was this last weekend and I must say it was probably the most fun I have had since the Brat Pack played just a couple of weeks ago :)

Here is what I came away from my reunion....
1) Still happy to see all the old friends from HS
2) Everyone (that came) was in the same spirits as I... Just happy to see everyone
3) Change? Some have, some haven't AT ALL!
4) Our class had over 300 graduating (I think) and everyone had such a good time
5) We all still like to have fun
6) We all still know how to have fun :)
7) I can't wait till the next one!

Highlights of the weekend was the Friday Night Social. Everyone seemed to have left their insecurities behind and was happy to catch up. The furthest person that came lives in Chili! A ton of people work at State Farm (imagine that) and it seemed like alot of people live in the state of California or Texas. I was most happy to see Robin, Jantell, Shawntell, Cindy, Tami, Karen among a few! I wish I could have seen Kathy, Anye, Tina, Chris. I hope next time they show up.

Saturday night was just as fun. Ron came with me on Saturday. He couldn't believe how happy everyone was. He said "we are all just a bunch of social butterflies", he enjoyed stories of me growing up and I think he got a little too much insight... He was happy to be apart of such a wonderful group of former classmates and I was proud too!

So Yummy

So what do you do when a friend is having a baby and you want to throw a baby shower? You order SUSHI! All good for mommy of course. Then you invite the husbands and call it a cocktail party! So with that said, Sally had a wonderful couples baby shower and the sushi was yummy. Thanks for giving us a chance to celebrate Nick & Sally! CHEERS to your upcoming arrival!

What to Wear

Ok, so I rarely blog about myself or what is going on with me or Ron. But I have to say I have been racking my brains for what I should wear at my 20th Class re-union. First of all, I can't believe it has been 20 years and second of all, that I am actually going. Thanks to Dad & Dolores, they will be watching the kids while I catch up with old friends with Ron with me :)

So the big question. WHAT THE HECK SHOULD I WEAR? Of course leave it up to me to wait till the last minute.

I hate dresses (on me of course), no need to encourage that please!
If I am wearing pants, will I be under-dressed? Most likely not, but who knows.
If I wear a black dress (highly unlikely), will I be overdressed?
The shoes??
The jewelry?
The purse?

There should be a website for this, which I did check and most of it was very vague. So, while my friend Mary and I go to our reunion, I will more than likely post pictures and guess who will be looking fabulous as always. MARY!!! Wish me luck and I hope all of you will be wondering what to wear to your next re-union!
